Currently as Admissions Manager, I have seen this department grow and expand the needs of our patients. Working at Charlie’s Place gives me the opportunity daily to give back what was so freely given to me.”

Recovery Support Services       Program Manager

Patty Doty has been at Charlie’s Place for four years. “I volunteered and worked at the Women’s Shelter of South Texas as a residential and outreach Case Manager for five years before getting the opportunity to be here at Charlie’s. I began as Case Manager with the Supportive Outreach Services program when I started at Charlie’s in May of 2010 and I became Program Manager in June of 2012. I am now Program Manager of the Recovery Support Services program which is a program that began this year and provides Recovery Coaches to individuals who qualify for services. I love my job and the amazing individuals I work with. I am in recovery and have family members who have also suffered from the disease of addiction. My heart is in service work, and my passion is for helping others create a new way of living for themselves by means of long term recovery. I believe in compassion and tolerance, for everyone has battles they are fighting that we know nothing about. Be kind for kindness’ sake.”

Deborah Ferguson Family Counseling Program Manager

Deborah joined the agency in July 2003 as the Family Program counselor and then became the Family Program Manager.  She supervises master and doctorate level students from various universities as they complete their family counseling internships at Charlie’s Place. She strives to provide a safe, nurturing environment to support growth in each person with whom she comes in contact. She previously worked at Turning Point Counseling, The Family Place, Texas A&M University Corpus Christi-Counseling and Training Center and had a private practice. During her educational career Deborah has received several awards including:  Del Mar College: Hall of Fame Recipient, Del Mar College:  Outstanding Student in Psychology and from Chi Sigma Iota at Texas A&M University-CC, the Outstanding Member Award.
